Rick Joaquim is an award winning Cinematographer based in London, with a passion for storytelling, collaboration and a drive to capture the heart of every project. Originally from South Africa where he  honed his skills working on a diverse range of narrative, commercial, and music video projects.

He was featured in the prestigious ARRI Camera Showreel in 2019 and to date has had his work showcased at major festivals including Sundance Film Festival 2021, Cannes Film Festival 2022, Aesthetica 2022 and winning "Best Cinematography" at The British Short Film Awards 2022 and in 2024 respectively.

Other accolades include winning "Best Achievement in Cinematography in a Documentary" at the South African Film & Television Awards 2022 (SAFTA's). His passion and talent were also recognized by the American Society of Cinematographers, where he was selected for the 2022 and 2023 ASC Vision Mentorship Program, having been mentored by Directors of Photography Jess Hall ASC, BSC and Alice Brooks ASC.

Despite these achievements, he remains humble, approachable, and passionate about his craft. He counts himself fortunate to be able to spend time behind the camera collaborating with others and looking for new opportunities to bring unique visions and stories to life.

With both an EU and South African Passport, Rick is free to travel and work internationally.
